Kevlar thread is great if you find it. I'd save it for somhteing more important than a wool shirt though. A regular heavy cotton thread would do just fine too. So what I'm saying is keep it simple and cheap and conserve the expensive or harder to find stuff for emergencies. Once SHTF, kevlar thread will be VERY expensive and you won't be able to find it anywhere so preserve what you have now.
